In this the third of his Stone Setting Series, Sam will show the prong mount making and setting of a basket mount set with a faceted citrine. You will be using argentium or any weldable sterling alloy. In order to utilize these techniques away from class you will need a mini torch which runs on oxy/acetylene or oxy/propane. A mini torch will be available at the class to practice with.
Bio: In 2000 the Smithsonian Renwick Gallery honored three generations of Patanias by displaying and purchasing bracelets from Sam, his father Pancho, and his grandfather Frank Sr. In the April 2012 issue of Lapidary Journal Jewelry Artist "Sam Patania - Longevity of Western Style" was featured in TRENDarticle, "Western Style - Celebrating the Heritage of the American Southwest" by Deborah Yonich.
