"Have you felt frustrated when photographing the beauty and uniqueness of your arts and crafts? Do you want to sell your art, but you can't get good photos with your camera?
"
"
Need some help with your camera and lighting?
"
Solution:
Doug Baldwin, professional product photographer, has designed a 2-day class to teach you everything you'll need to know to photograph your art.
Photography, Day 1:
Come learn the secrets of how to shoot beads, glass, metal clay, ceramics, jewelry, wood and other arts and crafts with a professional photographer. See what aspects make for a high quality photograph. Learn the language of studio photography, the 9 parameters of successful photos and how to produce them. We’ll cover basic photography, camera and lens choices, the qualities of good lighting, composition, background materials, and how to set your camera's menus for consistent, high quality photographs. This class is designed for all levels of photography experience.
Photoshop, Day 2:
You'll learn the tools and techniques to create color accurate files ready for use on your website, on eBay, Etsy, in magazine articles, books and portfolios. Students should bring a laptop with Photoshop CS5 or 6 Standard, Extended or Academic or Elements 10/11 already installed. Photoshop Elements 11 will be taught using a new workflow I've developed. Students will find it easier to use several of the tools in Photoshop using a corded or cordless mouse instead of a trackpad and should have a mouse with them during class.
You'll leave the classes empowered to create photos as beautiful as the art you're photographing.
Students should bring DSLR cameras with manual exposure and interchangeable lenses and macro lens (if available) and a tripod. Point-and-shoot or fixed lens cameras without these features are inadequate for creating professional work. Students who bring these basic cameras to class will find that they don't perform as desired and will be disappointed with the results. Students should also bring 16+ arts and craft pieces."
