Internationally acclaimed metalsmith NANCY MEGAN CORWIN's will present a FREE and open to the public lecture - a survey of the ancient art of chasing & repousse and the works of artists using this technique past and present.

BIO: Nancy Megan Corwin is an internationally known jeweler/metalsmith, teacher, writer and curator in the field of art metals. In 1983, she earned an MFA in Metals from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She is the author of the instructional and gallery book, Chasing and Repousse: Methods Ancient and Modern,( MS copyright 2009) published by Brynmorgen Press. Megan travels the world teaching and researching both traditional and contemporary approaches to these ancient techniques for creating form, texture and detail in sheet metals. Her work is in private collections and The Victoria and Albert Museum, London, England, The State University of new Mexico Art Gallery at Las Cruces Gallery, and at the Tacoma Art Museum, Washington State, in their permanent collections. Articles on Megan and her artwork have appeared in Ornament Magazine, and Metalsmith Magazine. Megan has designed her own line of chasing and repousse tools which are available through and by contacting her directly.
