Glass on metal beads! Experiment with a huge variety of enameling processes to enhance hollow copper beads with
a dazzling array of transparent and opaque colors. Traditional and exotic methods will be covered using foils, silver and glass granules, decals, metal mesh, embedded glass and metal additions, lusters, liquid enamels plus drawing techniques with pigments. Capping beads with silver or copper domed discs will also be demonstrated. 

BIO: Mary Chuduk was born in Chicago, Illinois and now lives and works in Arizona, USA, not far from the Grand Canyon. She is a studio artist, author, and guest curator and has extensively exhibited her metal work nationally and internationally (Korea, Switzerland, India, Russia, Spain, Japan, and Canada). She teaches privately and has given workshops across the US and in Canada, Australia, Japan, Mexico, Georgia, Korea and Turkey. Enameling (fusing glass to metal) is the primary medium she uses in making jewelry, wall pieces, vessels and sculptural objects from copper and silver.   

Mary received her Master of Fine Arts from Northern Illinois University, with additional studies at University of Grenoble, France, and post graduate work at Arizona State University. Her work has received many awards and is shown in recent books, The Art of Enameling: Techniques, Projects and Inspiration by Linda Darty, The Art of Fine Enameling by Karen Cohen, 500 Baskets (Lark Books) and Teapots: Makers and Collectors by Dona Meilach. She has recently written and published her own book Enamel: Technique and Experiments.
