FRANK_Spiral and Stripes Abstract.jpgAtlanta-based enamel artist Ricky Frank has spent 30 years  pursuing his love of creating enamel jewelry and perfecting his cloisonné technique. Frank’s limited-edition sterling silver cloisonné enamel jewelry and one-of-a-kind pieces in high-karat gold feature colorful and illuminating tones and stones in designs reminiscent of the dreamlike imagery of Klimt, Chagall, and Matisse. His work has been in Colored Stone magazine and Jewelry Artist magazine.

This workshop will focus on depth and color within a traditional cloisonné enameling technique. Explore brilliant, reflective surfaces un¬der transparent enamels and create textures which bounce light through the enamel layers. Blend and layer opaque, transparent, and opalescent enamel layers to create enamels which appear to swim through the colors. Students will create many small experimental pieces which will serve as color tests.
