Experimental Enameling & Raku
Glass + metal + heat + ???? Why not? Explore off-beat, unusual additions and inclusions into your enamels that can take the heat. Hit the refresh button and turn the temperature up for new looks and reactions for different color combinations. Also, we'll plunge our hot enamel straight out of the kiln into a burning can of fire, for vibrant color variations and iridescence. seasoned enamelists: Break out of your routine and pull something unique out of the kiln! And if you've never enameled before... welcome to the color brilliance and textural wow of glass on metal.
BIO: MARY CHUDUK was born in Chicago, Illinois and now lives and works in Arizona, USA, not far from the Grand Canyon. She is a studio artist, author, and guest curator and has extensively exhibited her metalwork nationally and internationally (Korea, Switzerland, India, Russia, Spain, Japan, and Canada). She teaches privately and has given workshops across the US and in Canada, Australia, Japan, Mexico, Georgia, Korea and Turkey. Enameling (fusing glass to metal) is the primary medium she uses in making jewelry, wall pieces, vessels and sculptural objects from copper and silver.
