Learn to make
dozens of unique earring findings from traditional fishhooks to hinged loops. Working on production jewelry and want earrings that fit your designs AND stand out? Make earrings that have design fully integrated into the whole piece right down to the findings! Students can expect to finish several pairs of different earrings. Styles of earwires covered include several variations of traditional fishhooks, kidney wires, posts, hinged hoops, forged hoops, swing hoops, extended earwires, and more. Techniques covered will include: wirework and bending/forming techniques, work hardening, polishing, balling wire, forging, soldering (including complex soldering methods with heat sinks, and tricks for simple solder prep), making jump rings, small hinges, pinning with the smith "little" torch, making head pins, riveting, working with tubing, working with beads, and much more.
BIO: Lynette Andreasen was raised in Tucson, Arizona.
She obtained a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Metals and jewelry in 2006, and a Masters of Fine Arts degree in Metals and Jewelry at Arizona State University in 2010. Lynette's work has been shown extensively in galleries across the United States including, Facere Jewelry Gallery, Heidi Lowe Gallery, Shaw Gallery, and Mobilia Gallery. Recently, her work has been published in the

American Craft Magazine
, and
Art Jewelry Magazine
. Lynette is also an educator and has taught metalsmithing classes at both Arizona State University and Phoenix Center for the Arts. Lynette is currently an artist in residence at Mesa Art Center in Mesa, AZ.
