Most artists work in relative isolation without a great deal of feedback from their peers. Certainly the art opening is the time for niceties, not honest appraisal. And success or lack of success in the marketplace may not be a fair barometer of true worth. Private artist salons are a romantic notion but rarely maintain momentum. Lucky for you we are planning this singular but helpful and perhaps personally meaningful event.

Local multi-media artist Simon Donovan has an opinion about everything. Graced with a critical eye and cursed with a big mouth, Simon likes to talk about other peoples work. ADC will host a critique workshop with Mr. Donovan as a guest critic. All visual mediums welcome. Constructive criticism, contextualizing, praise and encouragement will be doled out in equal measure. It is also fine to come sans work and just for the conversation.

“Simon Donovan is an artist known for his shameless self promotion. Neurotic, impulsive, opinionated, he is notorious amongst intimates for dominating dinner conversation. He has an unquenchable thirst for attention and affirmation. Occasionally he is humorous.”

Simon Donovan

Arizona Designer Craftsmen and Southern Arizona Clay Artist members will remember Simon from our "Slides under the Stars" event last May. He gave us a very informative and humorous look into his efforts as a public artist and future journeys.

This presentation is an ADC members only event and is being offered without a fee. Class size is limited to 20 people so please register to reserve your spot.
