BIO: Linda Darty is the head of the metals program and professor of metalworking and enameling at East Carolina University in Greenville, NC. She has an extensive national and international exhibition record and frequently teaches workshops on contemporary metal and enameling techniques. Her work has been featured in numerous publications and she is the author of the book, The Art of Enameling. Ms. Darty has received the NC Board of Governor's Award for Teaching Excellence, the ECU Alumni Teaching excellence Award and ECU School of Art's Scholar Teacher Award. In 2003 she received The Lifetime Achievement Award from The Enamelist Society and in 2009, this past year, she was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award from East Carolina University, its highest honor for outstanding creative research. Her enamel work is in the permanent collections of the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, the Museum of Art and Design in New York City and the Arkansas Art Museum.
