Steve's relates his back story: "I have spent the last 25 years as a Government employee working in wild land fire management currently at Saguaro National Park. I provide custom metal work using traditional blacksmithing skills and modern tooling and craft to create a unique product. I started my real experience in metal work when I attended a three week blacksmithing class in 1993. It was provided by Frank Turly in Santa Fe, N>M> I started working part time in 1995 during the winters and weekends at the Village Blacksmith shop owned by Jerry harris. I also have a love of hand forged blades of all types. I have pursued this interest with classes for a local smith Tai Goo who is one of the best in the costume and forged knife making community. For the last 25 years I have been a member of the Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA). I am known as Sir Stefhan Von Hessen OL in the kingdom of Atenveldt. In the past I have been active for 24 years in the combative sport of full contact armored combat using rattan for the weapons.
